Why I setup an online space for self-paced courses
Problem
The user community need to be trained up, but training sessions can require strict scheduling and depend on the mutual availability of scores of people.
Our small team’s attempts at planning large events became exhausting. By the time we worked out the logistics of well-organized workshops and webinars, we hardly had enough energy remaining to conduct them, and oft times there was low turnout, despite hight RSVPs. We knew that the expectation that we would always be able to coordinate calendars among so many busy people across the organization was unrealistic.
Solution
I created a new option that turned users into learners by giving them an online training hub.
I designed courses that users could take at their own pace, using LearnDash to build out a training hub that housed them. Additionally, in the interest of scale, we purchased licenses to allow designated users in the community to also use the platform to build out self-paced courses for their own purposes.
